P.C. Cannebiere near the Village of Esnes

For the beginning of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive on 26 September 1918, Companies "E", "H" and "G" of the 315th Infantry's Second Battalion had taken up position just south of the road opposite P.C. Cannebiere. (The Official History of the 315th Infantry U.S.A. (Philadelphia, 1920), p. 51)
