Tomolo in Switzerland
The plaque on the structure reads:
Anciennes mesures a grains
Ehemalige Kornmasse
Ancient Grain Measures
The name of the village : Gruyère (FR) - FR stands for Fribourg (Canton de Fribourg)
The children, who are about ten years old, show the size of the tomolo. The girl to the left is sitting in one of the grain-measuring holes. The tomolo in Gambatesa is much smaller.
There are hooks embedded in the stone.
There are stairs at one end of the tomolo.
Photographs by Angelo Abiuso, 9 July 2013.
