13th Census of the United States: 1910 -- Population
County of Philadelphia, City of Philadelphia, 29th Ward, E.D. 677, Sheet 6B, Lines 69-74,
Enumerated 20th April 1910
North Twenty-Seventh Street, House number 1217
Notes: lines were drawn, apparently to indicate marriage relationships, between Charles Olden and Vinnie Olden, and between Andrew Slackway and Mame Slackway. All members of this household were (17) able to speak English and (23-24) able to read and write.
From these census records we learn that Lavinia ("Vinnie") Olden was the sister of Andrew Slackway's wife Mame (Mary), and this tells us Lavinia's qualification to be the informant (named there "Mrs. C. S. Olden", which would be C = Charles, and S = Charles' middle name, which would be the correct form) for Andrew Slackway's death certificate. There is in Philadelphia's North Cedar Hill Cemetery a shared obelisk-shaped gravestone with the names: Morgan S. Smith (1843-1934) and Jennie E. Smith (1850-1915), and Mamie E. Slackway (1872-1933) and Andrew Slackway (1865-1937), on one side, as well as the name: Lavinia Olden (1871-1945) on the side to its right (although her husband Charles' name is absent, but apropos see the 1940 census).
