The Unusual Death in 1793 of Saverio Farinaccio

Preface:  Saverio FARINACCIO (1741-1793) of Gildone, Molise, is the only one of Nunziata DiRenzo's direct ancestors known not to have died at home in bed.  He died in a place known as "la Surienza".  Where was it?  That seems to have been forgotten by the time copies of his death record were made from the Parish Register of Gambatesa.  Why was Saverio climbing an oak tree in the month of November?

Note by Angelo Abiuso (Geneva): la Surienza must be a place with water.  It means "a source of water", but there are many.

The death certificate below was prepared as part of the 1854 marriage process of Saverio's grandson Domenico.  (For a general description of "marriage documents", see Processetti matrimoniali.)
