Via San Nicola, Gambatesa

Coming from the cemetery, the photograph below shows the first houses in Via San Nicola.  This is the beginning of the village, in the southeast.  The apse of the Church of San Nicola lies at the center of the photograph.  Via San Nicola sweeps around it to the left.  The street sign says VIA S NICOLA ("Saint Nicholas Street").  This is the old part of Gambatesa.

Not visible in the photograph on this page, but directly across from the Church of San Nicola is a house where the Valente family once lived.
