This was the presepio ("manger") in the Church of San Nicola in Gambatesa, Campobasso, Molise, Italy, for Christmas 2025.

The Nativity is set in Gambatesa's la Villa, also known as Largo della Fontana. This is the high point and town square of Gambatesa. The word villa means "a park with plants and trees". (The building in the background used to be Gambatesa's post office, but the building is now unstable and feared dangerous.)
To the right in the setting is Gambatesa's village fountain where girls and women used to fetch the household's water as late as the 1960s.

There were Christmas lights on Gambatesa's Municipio ("Town Hall"), which is along the road from Largo della Fontana.
There was also a nativity in the street, but here the setting is a grotto (Tu scendi dalle stelle. E vieni in una grotta al freddo al gelo), and only the Holy Family and the stabled animals are present.

And so the birth of Jesus Christ is commemorated in Gambatesa.
